Who we are

School Specialists Ltd (SSL) of Unit 21, Dean House Farm, Church Road, Newdigate, Surrey, RH5 5DL is an independent insurance broker operating solely in the independent schools’ market. SSL comprises the trading companies SFS Group Ltd and SFS Trustees Ltd, a specialist trustee company used for the receipt of parent premiums and the payment of school fees insurance claims to schools.

Your information will be held by us in both paper form and on our secure IT systems. We will make every reasonable effort to ensure all email communication is secure.  This may include encrypting sensitive data.  Please note that the transmission of data over the internet may still be incepted and we cannot be held liable for any loss of data transmitted to us electronically.

We do not currently use cookies on our website. Occasionally we may monitor our website usage via a third party service, Google Analytics.  We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to various areas of our website.  This information, however, is processed in a way which does not identify anyone.

We will keep your personal data only for so long as is necessary and for the purpose for which it was originally collected. In particular, for so long as there is any possibility that either you or we may wish to bring a legal claim under this insurance, or where we are required to keep your personal data due to legal or regulatory reasons.

If you would like a copy of the information we hold about you, you can make a Data Subject Access Request. You will not be charged for this SAR and data will be released to you as soon as possible and no later than 28 days.

Keeping personal data accurate

We will endeavour to keep your information accurate and when you inform us of any changes we will update your information at the earliest opportunity. Please help us to do this by letting us know whenever there are changes to your personal data.  If you are providing information about someone else you confirm that they have appointed you to act for them, to consent to the processing of their personal data including sensitive personal data and that you have informed them of our identity and the purposes for which their personal data will be processed.

Sharing of data

In certain circumstances it will be necessary to share your data with other insurance market participants, for example insurers, claims handlers and loss adjustors. In these circumstances, only data relevant to your claim will be shared.

We may also need to share your data with professional advisors and auditors.

We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information and under no circumstances will your data be shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
