Your child, like most children, probably takes a lot of belongings to school and on school trips. Replacing lost or damaged goods can be a costly business and, even if you can claim on your household insurance, you may be hit by high excess charges or increased premiums.
Our Personal Possessions Scheme covers the loss, theft or damage to all of your child's clothing or personal possessions whilst at school; on the direct journey to and from school; or on official school trips. Our excess charge is £20 or £40, depending on whether the incident takes place on school premises or elsewhere, and contributions are not increased if you make a claim.
Choose the level of cover to suit you
There are four levels of cover available according to the total value and type of goods that you would like to protect.
All levels of membership include:
- One specified mobile phone
- Unspecified items up to the value of £500
- Specified individual items valued at over £500 each (including laptops with Options 3 and 4).

Claims
The underwriter shall indemnify and shall be entitled, at their sole option, to repair, replace or pay for any article lost or damaged, whether wholly or in part. However the underwriter's liability in respect of stamps is limited to 75% (percent) of the Stanley Gibbons valuation.
The Personal Possessions Scheme is established as a trust for the benefit of its members and its trustee is SFTS Trustees Limited. The Trustee collects contributions and settles claims. To enable the Trustee to settle claims as they fall due, it has chosen to insure its liability to pay claims with Certain Underwriters at Lloyd's under a scheme arranged and administered by PLUM (Home) Limited.
