Students in universities across the country will be affected by funding cuts proposed by the government, it has been suggested.
Editor of Push.co.uk Johnny Rich said it will make it difficult for universities to be able to maintain a high level of education.
"Our university sector is something we should be extremely proud of, but it does need funding to protect that and to expand it," he revealed.
Mr Rich stressed that more graduate talent is needed in this country, despite claiming that many people think we already have enough.
This is a crucial investment to be made for the future, he continued, as it will allow research to be carried out.
By cutting funding, the quality of the research is jeopardised, he added.
Business secretary Peter Mandelson proposed university funding cuts of £398 million for the next financial year, with universities fined for students they admit over their admissions quota.
