Money 'should be invested' in fair university system

Funding should be provided in order to provide a fairer university system, it has been said.
Sally Hunt, University and College Union (UCU) general secretary, believes every student should be given the opportunity to reach their full potential.
"Increasing fees, or the other financial barriers that so many students and parents come up against when considering university, is certainly not the way to deliver that system," she continued.
Major political parties need to make sure they clarify where they stand on the future of university funding so people can make "an informed choice" at the ballot box in 2010.
A study from the Inspirational Development Group found that 57 per cent of businesses felt that there was more they could do to retain graduates.
Furthermore, 78 per cent of human resources managers agreed or agreed strongly that a specific development programme to increase retention of graduates one year after the end of their graduate programme would be beneficial.
