Young teachers 'more dedicated than ever'

The latest crop of newly-qualified teachers at state and independent schools are more dedicated than previous generations, it has been claimed.
Chair of the National Primary Headteachers' Association Peter Price made the claim while reviewing training provisions for young educators.
He suggested degree classification was not the only benchmark for finding talented staff.
"We get some extremely good teachers who are on 2:2 level and you can get the opposite. You can get some who are highly qualified with their own personal knowledge but are not good communicators," Mr Price said.
Solid interpersonal skills are key for success in the classroom, he added.
Mr Price was commenting in the wake of a report by Politeia, which claimed the education sector in England has hit a crisis point.
It claimed those who teach English are the least qualified of all in the profession and called for entry levels to teaching training courses to be raised.
