An independent school in Cheshire has won extensive praise in its latest report from the Independent Schools Inspectorate.
Following its inspection in February this year, the Terra Nova School was given an 'outstanding' rating for many aspects of its provision.
The co-educational preparatory school won high praise for the children's personal development and enthusiasm for learning, as well as the conscientious and enthusiastic teachers.
Pastoral care, links with parents and the community, nursery provision and boarding education were also commended by the inspectorate.
Welcoming the report, headmaster Nigel Johnson noted that he has "never been more proud" to lead Terra Nova.
He added that the report clearly indicates that the school's pupils are "happy, challenged and stimulated by all the opportunities available to them, in and outside of the classroom".
Last month, the Wilmslow Express reported that private schools in the Cheshire region appear to be fending off the effects of the economic downturn, with some having to respond to growing demand for places.
