The excitement of the Premier League made it into a Cheshire independent school recently, it has been reported.
Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar popped into The Ryleys School to represent the team at the charity event, according to the Manchester Evening News.
He attended the private school's Big Breakfast, which was held to raise money for good causes.
It saw local firms donate a range of foods, as well as mums chip in with some homemade pancakes.
"We cooked 400 pancakes all made by our own mums, which disappeared during the course of the morning, there was not one left," headteacher Pat Barrett told the paper.
Van der Sar sat alongside his 11-year-old son Joe, who attends the exclusive independent school.
The Ryleys raised £1,100 for Cancer Research through its breakfast event.
Situated in Alderly Edge, the independent institution opened in 1877 and will be catering for girls for the first time from this September
