An independent school in Perthshire is forging links with a nearby state school, in a bid to boost interest in science.
According to the Scotsman, physics, chemistry and biology teachers from Glenalmond College will be spending time at Murthly Primary.
They will help pupils at the maintained institution kick-start a science project, while the students will also have the opportunity to visit the private school and take advantage of its facilities.
Meanwhile, the partnership will additionally see Glenalmond students interested in a teaching career meeting staff at Murthly.
Director of the Scottish Council of Independent Schools Judith Sischy praised the initiative.
"SCIS would like to see greater sharing of good practice and facilities, particularly where there are shortages in subject specialists," she told the paper.
A spokesman for Perth and Kinross Council was quoted by the news source as stating that he hopes that this "friendship" will continue into the future.
Meanwhile, pupils at Broughton High School recently took part in a school swap with those at prestigious independent school Fettes College in Edinburgh.
