Prestigious private school Harrow is all set for the opening of a brand new boarding house.
Although the 12th house for the independent school is not due to open until September 2010, preparations are well underway.
Eventually, the first new house to open at Harrow in over a century will be home to 70 pupils, with 35 due to move in when it is first completed.
Since governors gave the go-ahead for the development in December, work has begun on the demolition of Peterborough Cottage, the site of which will be home to the new building.
And excitement ensued when pupils at Harrow were given the chance to choose the name for the house, which was overwhelmingly favoured to be Lyon's House.
Finally, current head of geography at Harrow Keith Metcalfe has been selected as the new house master.
Harrow has an impressive collection of alumni, including seven British prime ministers. Old Harrovians also include Richard Curtis, physicist Lord Rayleigh and the inventor of photography William Henry Fox Talbot.
