This week the prestigious independent school Wellington College hosted former prime minister Sir John Major.
Addressing the whole school, as well as staff and parents, the past Conservative leader spoke about what he sees as the most important issues that will face Britain and the world during the next quarter of a decade.
His talk covered a range of issues, including the environment, scientific advances and fighting poverty.
"He wanted all of the pupils to realise that they have a unique opportunity to make the world a better place," notes the school's website.
After speaking to the private school, Sir John took a number of questions from the floor, concluding an event "that pupils will remember for many years to come".
Head of Wellington College and political commentator Anthony Seldon recently suggested that despite the apparent onset of recession, parents will "fight very hard" to ensure they can keep their children in independent education.
