A private school played host to old boy and former Olympic medallist Peter Hart last week.
Visiting his former haunt, the current chief executive of modern pentathlon ran a taster day for his multi-event discipline at the Royal Hospital School (RHS).
The event features running, swimming, fencing, shooting and horse riding.
Mr Hart won a bronze medal in 1988 at the Seoul Olympic Games and has represented Great Britain 30 times.
He spent the day with 15 girls and boys between 11 and 13-years-old at RHS, who took part in a 1km run, a timed swim and had an introduction to fencing and shooting.
Director of sport at the school Paul Hardman said that he was "delighted" that Mr Hart had visited the school.
"With the facilities and space available here, this event could become very popular indeed and I will support any pupil who wants to take up the sports involved and the event itself," he added.
Former RHS pupil Hannah Stodel was part of the British Paralympic Sonar Sailing Team this summer.
