Pupils, staff and former pupils of George Watson's College in Scotland took part in the independent school's annual observance of Remembrance Day yesterday.
This year - which was the 90th anniversary of the armistice - was particularly special as a number of alumni of the institution when it was based at Archibald Place attended the ceremony.
This included three former pupils who are now in their 90s, the oldest being Hamish Tait, who is 99.
In recognition of the former site of the institution, the senior schools' West Quad was yesterday renamed Archibald Place and the event was marked with a commemorative stone.
Principal of George Watson's College Gareth Edwards stated: "This is an important day in our calendar and it was a great pleasure to welcome back former pupils who remember school days both in Archibald Place and Colinton Road."
In other news at the school, senior pupils won the regional final of the UK Senior Team Maths Challenge in Edinburgh this week.
