A brand new independent school offering pupils the chance to enhance their performing arts skills in the bid to enter the world of showbiz will soon open in Birmingham.
BISPA - Birmingham's Independent School of Performing Arts - will be opening its doors to would-be actors, dancers and singers next September, reports the Birmingham Mail.
Founder Ian Sandy, once an actor and now a theatre producer, told the paper that he wanted to give children an opportunity to attend a performing arts school outside of London.
"We will not be an easy ride for anyone. All of the pupils we take on will want to come here and then be here on merit," Mr Sandy told the paper.
Although BISPA, set to be nicknamed the Flame School, is a fee-paying school, scholarships will be available for those who are less financially advantaged.
The school is currently setting up a trust fund and hopes to offer this opportunity to a limited number of talented students for its first-year intake, according to its website.
