An independent school based near Leeds has achieved recognition and praise following its latest inspection.
Conducted by officials from the Independent Schools Council, the inspection assessed many aspects other than just the teaching at Alcuin School in Chapel Allerton, the Yorkshire Evening Post reports.
Catering for children aged between four and 11, the school has 37 pupils.
It was merited for developing the spiritual, moral and cultural aspects of its students.
"Pupils excel individually and as a group in playing chess, in team sports, in dance, drama, music and art," the paper noted the report as stating.
The school has only been established for 14 years but has now been invited to join the Independent Schools Association on the back of the glowing inspectors' report.
Alcuin School is affiliated to St James School in London and is headed by John Hipshon.
