Girls at a private school in North Yorkshire have experienced a day in the life as a soldier after spending time with the army.
Soldiers from the Yorkshire Regiment and Royal Dragoon Guards joined 25 year ten pupils at Queen Mary's independent school in Baldersby Park to join, reports the Darlington and Stockton Times.
"At Queen Mary's we encourage girls to develop initiative, leadership and team building skills, as well as fitness and a healthy lifestyle," headmaster Robert McKenzie Johnston told the paper.
They put the girls through their paces as they took part in fitness and team-building exercises, which included an assault course, archery practice, drill and circuit training.
And paintball equipment was used for simulated attacks using bunkers set up in the school grounds.
Last week cadets at Yarm School in Stockton-on-Tees were treated to a visit by members of the armed forces, who arrived at the school grounds in a helicopter, according to the same publication.
