Liam Gallagher's children at private school
Posted on 22nd November 2007
Indie rocker Liam Gallagher has revealed his children attend an independent school.
Speaking to online music publication Spinner, he said he pays a lot for them to go to a fee-paying school.
"It's important that they get a good education 'cause who knows what's around the corner," the rocker explained.
Earlier this year, a survey conducted on behalf of the Reader's Digest revealed 59 per cent of parents would send their children to private schools if they could afford it.
That compares to 48 per cent 20 years previously.
Its study also revealed 36 per cent of parents believe their children are not being stretched enough by their homework, believing too little is set.
The Independent Schools Council reports that the British independent sector educates around 620,000 children across 2,500 private schools.
It states the average termly fee at one of its member schools during 2006-07 was £3,391, or £6,712 a term at boarding school.
