Ardingly College passes new ISI inspection with flying colours

Ardingly College is the first private school to have undergone the Independent School Inspectorate (ISI) new inspection regime, and has passed with flying colours.

Senior, prep and pre-prep parts of the Woodward Schools Group institution were assessed by the ISI, all of which were praised for excellent leadership and high achieving pupils.

Inspectors spent four days at the school throughout February, with the lead inspector commenting that Ardingly was "among the best of the best", according to Headmaster Peter Green.

Quality of learning and academic achievement were singled out for praise, with inspectors pointing to the sixth form International Baccalaureate pupils "excellent use of the exceptional opportunities that extend the curriculum".

Mr Green explained: "We were one of the first to enter into a new cycle, so rather than just having two inspectors for each school, there were 15 inspectors, who looked at every area of school life, from nursery through to the sixth form."
