Parents who already pay for their children to attend private school will make enormous sacrifices to keep them there, according to the Good Schools Guide.Concerns about the impact of withdrawing children from independent schools will often result in parents thinking carefully about how best to target their spending, claims the guide's Senior Editor Janette Wallis.
She explained: "They may have a bit of money put aside for schools fees, and rather than starting at the age of four and finding themselves in difficulties along the way, they are saying that in the three most important years they will spend this money."
Some parents will opt to ease their children in and out of the system, targeting their spending where it will have the most significant impact on their child's development and learning.
However, she notes people often look for different things in private education, so while cost is a factor, the choice of school is often incredibly important.
